This contains everything you need to back NDS cartridges to ROMs plus there saves. You will need a wireless router to do this. (Note: i dont think this can work on routers with security)

1) In the configuration file (NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi.ini) open it with notepad and change the server IP to the IP address of your computer.
(to find IP, open command prompt and type in "ipconfig" and look for "IPv4 address"

2) Put the configuration file (NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi.ini) and the .nds file (NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi.nds) in the root of your card.

3) open smallftpd.exe and click the little green play button. The settings should already be set.

4) Run it on your DS. If all works well, its should connect.

THIS TAKES A LONG TIME SO PLUG YOUR DS IN A CHARGER

If you have any problems look at the pictures to compare or leave a comment and I will try to get back.

Error while connecting for Access Point. Error reads: Can't connect with the Access Point of WiFi Please confirm with the Wifi setting. (A): Confirm I know the WiFi is setup and working, as I can play online and I can ping the DS with playing online. Ive set up the files correctly to point to my computer as the server. the FTP app is running before I start the Backup App. What am I doing wrong?

Does this work with the DSi? If not, what backup software would you recommend for the Ak2i on a 1.4u DSi XL?

I am having the same issue and error messages as RumbleBus and thisotherwhiteguy. The ftp server is working because I can get into it via filezilla.

I figured out the problem with mine. Make sure you have a static IP and that your router broadcasts the ssid. Now it works wonderfully!

I've been having the same problem as RumbleBus, gameon and thisotherwhiteguy but unlike RumbleBus I have yet to even get static IPs to fix the problem. Is it possible to update the NDS firmware? How do I know what version I am on and if it is upgradable how does one go about upgrading it?

@CYPHER - I would start here (http://lifehacker.com/5588151/hack-your -nintendo-ds-for-easy-backups-and-single +cartridge+playback) - This is the tutorial I was following and the links they provide should have the latest files you need as well as the .ini file.

I was able to get my connection to router to work by changing router channel to 6. Was on 3.

@mabrownmab - On the router itself or via one of the .ini files?

OK I backed up the .SAV file from the cart. How do I restore the file to the cart? I inadvertently cleared the saved data from on cart. I see a restore selection but its greyed out. What is the procedure for DSI?

I think this app needs some updating as it does not recognize the newer Pokémon games save files such as HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black and White. It comes up with Save: Unknown.
